Fearless Females: March 16

The Accidental Genealogist is running her annual “Fearless Females” month of March. I got really behind this month due to several weekends of traveling for hockey, but I still think it’s a worthwhile series and I’m hoping to finish it out slowly. If you want to see her blog and prompts you can look here: http://www.theaccidentalgenealogist.com/2015/02/back-for-sixth-year-fearless-females.html

The prompt for March 16:

“If you could have lunch with any female family member (living or dead) or any famous female who would it be and why? Where would you go? What would you eat?”

I would like to have lunch with my great-great-grandmother Hattie Bates Cather Anderson (1866-1951). I really want to hear what she would have to say about her life, moving from West Virginia to Ohio, being a pastor’s daughter, have her tell me about her siblings and other relatives, how she met and married her husband Howard B Anderson, what it was like to lose three children during her lifetime. Instead of lunch I picture us sitting in a fancy parlor having tea and finger sandwiches.
